As the years go by, fewer Montagnard women in the US have the time or receive the encouragement to weave or learn how. Purchasing their work is the clearest encouragement for them to continue because sales contribute to household income. Needless to say, prices, while modest, reflect cost of living here where they live — the United States — and not Vietnam. By buying these local, hand-made works you are helping weavers continue their work and demonstrating to the Montagnard American community your belief in the importance of their culture.
